I, am at work. I like work. It's fun.
Today, I am evaluating some things.
We have an intake system from an Audi B7 RS4.
We have a rapid prototyped SLA model of the upgrade.
We have a carbon fiber version of the SLA.
Time to compare and contrast and make sure everything is kosher for production.
Sorry for the angle.
Left to right we have the carbon fiber model, the SLA model, and the OEM version, with box attached.
Stock= boring
SLA= worked, but all the mounts are wrong.
Carbon= hoping it will work. Need to check again its .sldprt file.
I begin with the basics. Open up the file, add carbon as material, and some lighting to see it better.
Well, this led to measuring the stock box for comparison, then measuring the SLA, and the carbon, for all the checking of things and such. This was going well, tolerances were dead on on the drawing compared to the OEM.... but the acrbon was off a little.
After two hours of detailing everything, the big one hit. The drawing has a major flaw that renders the file useless.... and it was the last thing i checked. goddamn.
thats all for now.

so what's the major flaw? You can't leave a cliff hanger like that mann.
Material thickness way off? Did they use the wrong units?
